Mrs Chhen Lang

Mrs Chhen Lang

She began as a volunteer field staff member for the organization in 1996, working in the Integrated Community Development program, then was promoted to Program Director in 2000. Throughout this time, she would work tirelessly to ensure the success of projects, revelling in a newfound sense of self-empowerment and leadership, and gaining knowledge and skills that would prove to shape her future. Her dedication to the cause was apparent to the ACED staff, who took her under their wing, trained her, and began grooming her for a more prominent role in the organization. She assumed her current position after graduating from Cambodia University with a degree in General Management. Mrs. Lang feels that maintaining close communication and relationships to partner NGOs, network groups, donors, and other relevant institutions with mutual missions is integral to fighting for social justice and against poverty. She welcomes contact from anyone wishing to share ideas, experiences, or advice.

Mr Vuthy Chhim is the Program Director for ACED. In 2005, he completed a two-years comprehensive training program by Leadership Character Development Institute (L-CDI) at Ban Chhim Vuthyteay Mencheay province and headquarters Pochentong (Phnom Penh). His subject studies were English, Conversation, Public Speaking, Seminar/Workshop, Discussion, Community Development, Responsibility and Respect.

For about five years he worked as a teacher of English at various schools throughout Cambodia.  Living in Borun village in Bavel Commune with his family, he joined ACED in 2009. He enjoys providing the poorest of the poor with his experience as a language teacher at Britt’s Learning Center (BLC), established by ACED in March 2009.  He welcomes contact from anyone wishing to share ideas.

Mrs. Chhanty Hem has been an Integrated-Community Development Project Manager for ACED for the past two years. Prior to working with ACED, she was a project manager in the field of Integrated-Community Development with the NGO, CARITAS International for 10 years. Her experience with Community Development Concepts, Community Organizing, and Community Development Plans brings much support to ACED’s development projects. Grateful to ACED for building her sense of self-empowerment, she feels very passionate about her work for the organization and hopes to expand her leadership role within the organization as well as the community. Mrs. Hem welcomes contact from advisors who can assist in developing her leadership skills.

Ms Sinoun Norm is the Social Development Project Manager for ACED. Coming from a very poor family, and unable to attend university, Ms. Norm decided to find a good job that would allow her to save money for her education, meanwhile gaining skills and knowledge significant to her future.
