Future Goals

Future Goals

In 2009 and beyond, ACED is going to focus on these activities:

Maternal Health
Poor women in rural areas such as Bavel District have limited access to maternal health services, and the maternal mortality rate is high as well as child mortality. More skilled personnel, better equipment and information are required in Health Centers and in villages. Poor women need access to trained midwives in their villages. ACED is planning to start a project to improve the antenatal care system and greatly appreciates support by donors.

Human Rights for Women and Children
ACED will continue to work on some major problems for women and children, i. e. domestic violence, human trafficking and the high number of rape cases. Here ACED wants to give the victims better access to legal advice, establish training courses as well as improve organizing the community networking.

Education
Having started Britt’s Learning Center in March 2009, ACED is offering courses for the poorest of the poor in English language and later on possibly also in Computer skills. Thanks to generous people, ACED can also provide scholarships to poor students in public schools. Furthermore, ACED is planning to set up courses for teachers to create awareness of problems like corruption in the educational system and to raise motivation for change.

Integrated Community Development
ACED’s focus will lie on the question how to improve living conditions by further developing credit schemes, the rice bank, agriculture, self-help groups and capacity building.

Any kind of help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
